God Knows Everything

 

Dinu is a poor man. He every day goes to the nearby town for work. All over the day, he works hard in a small toy factory. He returns home after the sun sets. In his family, there is his wife, a daughter named Nilu nine years old & a little son. He makes both ends together with a lot of hardship as the income from his workplace is not enough to run his family by all means.

One day as usual Dinu goes to the factory, where he comes to know that the factory has been turned to ashes completely in a devastating fire last night. The news is not less than a bolt from the blue to him because he has now been on the roads. The only source of his income is no more. The future of the factory as well as of Dinu is uncertain today. Dinu has come today with great expectation because today is the payday but all are in vain when he hears that both the manager & the owner of the factory have been arrested as a night guard has died in this fire.

Dinu comes back to his house with a gloomy face. When his wife notices him coming home early with empty hands she is surprised because she has told him to bring household necessary commodities which have almost been exhausted in their home. She breaks into tears when her husband informs her of all the happenings.

What savings Dinu had has been totally drained out in the next 3-4 days. The condition of the family has become unbearable to him because he has to see his family without food. Meanwhile, Dinu has tried for a job & approached different people, but unfortunately, he can’t find out a job. Being the main bread earner of the family he feels helpless when he looks at the dull faces of his wife & little children. How long will those children sleep in starvation? This question arises in his mind & his eyes become teary.

The thought of earning bread for his family cannot let him sleep in peace. One day an idea comes to his mind, which makes his eyes bright for a second. He plans to steal coconut from a neighbor’s coconut grove. He thought if he gets success in this task, he will be able to manage food for his children for the next few days.

As per his plan after 12 O’clock at night takes his daughter with him & enters to the coconut grove. While preparing for climbing up the tree he says to his daughter, “Hey, stay here silently & if you see anyone, give me a call so that I can hide. O.K., dear?”

The girl nods her head affirmatively. Dinu then targets a healthy coconut tree & starts climbing up to the top. When he has almost reached the coconut bunch he can hear his daughter’s voice, “Dad, someone is watching.” Hearing this Dinu hastily climbs down the tree & goes to his daughter & asks, “ Who is watching? Where is the person?”

Nilu doesn’t speak anything, she just keeps silent.

“Hey Nilu, where is he? Where have you found him? I am not seeing anyone here.” – Dinu says.

“I don’t know who is he, but he was watching.” –Nilu says indifferently.

Dinu thinks his daughter has some illusion & so he prepares for a second attempt & asks her daughter to be careful.

A second time he again starts climbing the tree & as before when he is about to cut the coconut bunch, Nilu says again, “Father, someone is watching.”

Again Dinu rapidly comes down from the tree & asks his daughter, “Who is he Nilu? Where is he? Where have you seen him?”

As before Nilu looks at him blankly & says, “It seems someone is watching. I am sure. Believe me, dad.”

Dinu suspiciously looks at her; he can neither disbelieve her nor understand her words.

However, he again prepares himself to make another try. He looks around first cautiously & begins climbing the tree. When he has reached the top of the tree to cut the coconut bunch, he can hear the same word “Dad, someone is watching.” This time he becomes too much afraid & quickly descended from the tree & goes to his daughter. “Where is the person Nilu?” – asks Dindu in a fearful voice. Nilu keeps silent. He becomes so irritated with his daughter & asks, “This is the third time you have given me the call but can’t show anyone who is watching. What happens to you? Are you okay?”

Nilu replies then in a soft voice, “Father, is not there a person who sees all our actions from all directions? I am just meaning that one.”

With great amazement, Dinu looks at her face & says, “He sees our all actions from all directions! There is surely one who does this. It is none but God himself. Do you want to mean him?”

Nilu stares at his eyes affirmatively.

Dinu is surprised with such kind of deep knowledge of a little girl.

He says to her, “Nilu you have learned such kind of knowledge! You are blessed, my child. You are right that god is always watchful of us; our every action and every condition cannot deceive His eyes. I am a fool to think about you all, there is the top thinker in this universe who takes notice of all our situations of us. He knows the misery and suffering of our family, so He will surely take action on it. It is vain for me to try taking care of all of you, He is the real father of all of you, and so I shall leave my responsibility on Him.” Saying this they depart from the place to their home.

 

Almighty god always keeps vigil on us. None can deceive Him. Our every action even our every thought is open to Him. Any deed made in secret carefully is an open secret to Him. We all are accountable before that omniscient god.  He watches us from all directions relentlessly. When Dinu learns the universal lesson from his little daughter, he could realize that he is going to make wrongdoing which he may do out of any earthly eye but he cannot hide from the supreme eyes. So he refrains himself from the foul play. Likewise, we all should keep aloof from making any kind of offense in our lives. If all begin to practice such kind of conduct then surely peace will be established in this mundane world. Remind Him before making any action & be happy with your life.
