Salt is one of the basic ingredients of our cooking. Do you know this common thing has an uncommon impact on our mental health? We all consume it to enhance the taste of foods. The salt which is mostly used is table salt or refined salt. It is collected from salt mines or sea shore. Then this unclean salt has to go through step by step purification process; of course, the process is done with chemicals. Next iodine is added. Now a milk-white 'refined' salt is ready to consume.

This type of refined salt contains a high volume of sodium; regular consumption of which may result hypertension & may other health hazards to the consumers. In Indian food habit salt is added to the food at the time of cooking. There is no need to sprinkle salt on food at the dinner table. But it is the food habit of Western countries where they prefer to sprinkle salt over their food while eating. So fine quality salt has no use in context of Indian or Eastern countries. So, why the use of refined salt is increasing day by day in India? All credit goes to the TV advertisement.😃

Now if we stop using this useless salt, then what next?

The next & final one is Himalayan rock salt. As its color is pinkish, so it is called pink salt also. This rock salt is the finest salt in the world. It is collected by hands. Hardly any impurity is present in this type of salt. So it needs no process of purification. Apart from potassium & calcium rock salt contains 84 types of trace minerals like - Zn, Cu, Mn, Se, F, B, Cr, I, Mo & Co etc. These minerals have a good impact on our health; they are the treasures for a healthy body.

Rock salt controls blood pressures & thus reduces hypertension; it is rich with antioxidant & hematogenic properties; maintains pH balance of our body, boosts metabolism & digestion ; has positive effect on depression.

So friends, intake this salt & fill up your body-vault. 😊
