What is Sin & who is a Sinner?

There may be numerous definitions of sin & sinner but I am not going down that path, rather I here present a checklist that you may easily go through & understand yourselves. You would not need a church cleric for his consideration & judgement whether you are a sinner or not.

Greed:

Have you control over your greed? Are you always prepared to get anything by hook or crook unethically? Greed if not harnessed may send you behind the bars one day. In the present world, most of the injustices to society are committed by greedy persons.

Peace & happiness go at stake for the greedy activities. Social imbalance is one of the main results of greed when a country out of its greed wants to expand its territory, then it attacks its neighbouring small countries causing a massive loss of lives. Sometimes we hear the cases of killing of housewives for dowry. It is the greed of in-laws. Now- a -days we even cannot control our greed in eating, there is nothing left in this world that has not been used as the food of human beings. Excessive taking of unhealthy junk food or eating bizarre creatures has been the fashion of this time, and obviously, it has welcomed adverse impact both on our body & mind.

Here we should keep in our minds that everybody has some aspirations or dreams in his life, but this is not considered greed; greed is such kind of aspiration that only may be compared with an open mouth of an active volcano which no water of fulfilment can ever quench.

So, greed is a sin & a greedy person is a sinner.

Jealousy:

One of the main causes of breaking up relationships & friendships is jealousy. A jealous person is avoided by all. When we cannot get what we want & see anyone having that, creates in us a sense of jealousy. The happiness that she/he has achieved sets our brain burning; then we somehow try to underestimate or insult that person. This type of attitude is meanness. A jealous man neither gets peace himself nor lets others relish the peace they possess. Sometimes jealousy makes one criminal-minded, most cases of adolescent crimes are the effect of such a criminal mindset. Social peace & harmony are disturbed by this mentality. There is a saying that we human beings are like crabs in a basket, when one tries to reach to the edge of the basket, another grabs its leg & pulls it down to the same place. Time has come to be a human being from a crab.

So, jealousy is a sin & a jealous person is a sinner.

Hatred:

The examples of hatred have secured a permanent place in dailies at present. It may be religious, political, or any social point of view to discuss. Out of ego, one person puts oneself on a superior level & all others become inferior to him. This sense grows hateful mentality is one who always finds way to dishonor anybody before him irrespective of his position, status or age. These superior-inferior, upper class-lower class or rich-poor divisions among us make a nation fragmented & unstable.

Once there was a time in history when white skin men couldn’t tolerate the black skin people & thought that those black men were of no use for the society except being slave; in each place where English colonial rule was in power, no native man was granted due respect & right; and it is need not to say that this hatred mentality provoked numerous cases of human rights violation all over the world.

We are the finest creation of the god. Being a finest model of Him how can we behave like the meanest creature?

Hatred is sin & a hateful person is sinner.

Weakness:

A weak person neither can prosper in his life nor can make his society prosperous. A physically weak man never ventures to take any action & a mentally weak one is always hesitant & suspicious. Self confidence which is the key to success in one’s life gets no space in a weak mind; as a result failure knocks at the door.

Weakness is a curse to humanity; it is potential enough to make a person greedy & lustful & invokes him to commit a crime. Have you ever thought deeply why are the case of rape, forgery & other illegal activities rampant in the present society? If you judge with a thoughtful mind, can easily trace the cause which is weakness, this weakness may be too much money, fame, or the opposite sexes. Social equilibrium is very much affected by weak minds. A strong mind with a strong character [to know how to build a character plz click this link:  https://tipsonhappylife.blogspot.com/2022/08/character-what-is-that.html] only can lay the foundation of peace in society.

A weak man has nothing to contribute to this world but disappointment, & this disappointment like an infectious disease infects others, that is why the number of depressed people is growing day by day. So dealing with this enemy of humanity should be our foremost duty.

So to conclude weakness is a sin & a weak person is a sinner.

Dishonesty:

It is a feature of a rotten character. Dishonest people have neither the least sense of gratitude nor any attachment to society. They are devoid of ethics in their lives; their only motto is to find any opportunity for personal gain. No good can be expected from them. Sometimes a large number of people have to incur a massive loss in their lives for a dishonest person. Any dishonest activity however trivial or large in scale should be treated as a criminal offence. A dishonest man is the enemy of the whole of mankind because he doesn’t hesitate to play with the future of innocent people.

Dishonest defence personnel of a state can make his country vulnerable by supplying secret defence documents to the enemy state.

A dishonest businessman can stake the lives of its consumers with food adulteration.

A dishonest president of a country can sink the whole nation in debts by making it bankrupt.

A dishonest academician can feel a prestigious institution ashamed by leaking secret question papers.

Thus these ‘holy persons’ gradually pull society into the darkness.

Dishonesty is a sin & a dishonest person is a sinner.

Now the whole picture is before you friends; judge your level yourselves. Do rectify where needed & take a vow to become a pure human being. Be happy & make others happy.
